BELLEVUE, Wash. – October 18, 2006 – Centeris® Corporation, a pioneer in developing software for easy management of Linux® servers in a Microsoft® Windows® network, today announced that it has agreed to sponsor TechX World, a new series of events focused on the future of integrated, multi-platform IT environments. In addition to sponsoring TechX World, Centeris’ Chief Executive Officer Barry Crist was invited to participate in a panel discussion at each of the event’s four stops in Washington D.C., Chicago, Dallas and San Francisco. Crist will join representatives from IBM, Microsoft and other industry leaders, to discuss the future of interoperability in the enterprise.
"We are excited to be a part of the inaugural TechX World series of events, and look forward to presenting our vision of the future of interoperability," said Crist. "TechX World provides a great opportunity for us to demonstrate our products and services to a very attentive audience, and work with other leaders in the industry to further promote what has become a very critical and relevant topic for IT professionals. Interoperability continues to be on the forefront of IT discussions, as companies and their IT staffs are faced with integrating mixed IT environments. The popularity of Linux and dependence on Windows-based systems has created a unique challenge for today’s companies, and we look forward to being a part of the solution."
At TechX World, Centeris will demonstrate Likewise 2.0, the company’s server management solution that helps organizations to manage Windows and Linux on the same network, which enhances network security. Likewise makes it simple to configure and manage Samba, Apache, and Linux and provides seamless integration of Linux servers and workstations with Microsoft Active Directory. Likewise allows you to use your existing IT staff and directory infrastructure to manage Linux providing increased security and lowering the total cost of ownership of a mixed network.
Produced by Penton Media, TechX World will focus on four content tracks: Operating System Interoperability, Directory and Security Integration, Data Interoperability and Virtualization.
